Since I penned my first poem at age ten, I have been obsessed with telling the story beneath the story.
I am obsessed with shoes and identity, shoe commentary and Shoe Therapy® (I broadcast live from Italy twice a year from the Italian Shoe Show).
I've written about what shoes say about you in my two books, and I created Shoe Therapy® with my Shoe Therapy© series and TV and online shows of the same name. I also covered celebrity shoe trends for publications like The Hollywood Reporter, where I was a Contributing Editor for two years and where I penned my syndicated column In Her Shoes©.
I founded and ran Reading Between A and B, a New York Foundation for the Arts-sponsored reading series that was the first to pair emerging and established poets together. I've had my own show on HSN (yep, more Shoe Therapy®) and designed my own capsule shoe collection - twice. I've spoken at, led panels and headlined events around the country on topics like women's leadership and clinical gender bias for organizations like Planned Parenthood and Maybelline. I've worked on actual Wall Street, 1 Wall Street to be exact, as a marketing and communications executive.
I've taught women how to self-advocate for their medical care. I write, speak and advocate about clinical gender bias. I was a Contributing Editor for a luxury B2B trend report on everything from denim to hotels, and a Poetry Editor at Failbetter. I published my poems in places like the Cortland Review and Slipstream, and I wrote about poetry and shoes that one time, too.
